As part of the public consultation process the MOA has been asked to provide Vicroads with our views and support for the proposed 90 day log book scheme that allows you to use your Moke on days other than club events. The proposed scheme is more aligned with other states already using the 90 day log book as it provides more flexibility for the members to use their vehicles.
Currently the MOA has 6 vehicles registered under the Club Permit Scheme, commonly known as 'Red plates' or club rego which allows members to drive their vehicles at an annual cost of about 25% of normal full registration. The proposed scheme is expected to be a similar cost.
More information about the proposed scheme can be found on the AOMC website on this page http://www.aomc.asn.au/CPSupdate.htm and be sure to click on the link Log Book as it details the proposal.
For our part I would like to canvas the membership of the MOA to find out how much support the proposed scheme would get from Moke Owners by asking you to provide feedback to me to the follow questions.
1. Do you have any objections or issues with the 90 Day log Book scheme being proposed or see how it might adversely affect the club?
2. Do you currently have a Moke on the existing Club Permit Scheme.?
3. Would you register your Moke with the proposed CPS if it is approved?
4. Would you register any additional Mokes under the proposed CPS Scheme? How many?
5. Do you have another vehicle that would be eligible for the proposed CPS that is not a Moke?
6. If the proposed scheme does not go ahead would you still consider putting your Moke under the existing CPS?
If the CPS scheme potentially affects you then please take the time to answer these question and preferably email them to myself,
