China Moke at October General Meeting
The October general meeting had a special guest from the National Motor Theft Office to give his views on the China Moke bodies while John from Mini Bits brough one along for people to look at.

Having a guest speaker at the General Meeting is rare, but we had two and Craig Watson from The Mini Experience came along to listen and sell a few copies of his last edition which has a feature on the Mokes in the Australian Military.

First up was Mr Policeman from the National Motor Theft Office who could really only provide limited information on the issue of registration and getting the China Moke bodies on the road as that was really the role of Vicroads. His views were from the stand point of changing the identity of the Moke to represent another vehicle was illegal and had lots of entertaining stories on what the crooks are up to with other vehicles.

John from MiniBits in Beaconsfield had bought along a China Moke Shell with some of the other fittings attached for members and guest to have a look at and touch and feel, most for the first time. He also got up and gave a good account of the China Moke business and it was the first real public and positive spiel I had heard since they began arriving on our shores.

Unfortunately it was a bit dark to take a lot of good photos but hopefully you get the idea and by the time the 3rd generation of Pullen is old enough to drive then Vicroads may have the issue of registration sorted out.
