The club service days are a great opportunity for people learn about their own Moke and maybe help other people with their own Moke as you BYO your own tools and parts and you get dirty doing your own repairs. There is a relaxed and helpful atmosphere with the service days starting around 9-10am and tends to finish between 2pm or even as late as 4pm depending on the host and work needing to be done.
Service days can be used to have people more knowledgeable than yourself have a look over your Moke and give you some idea of what areas might need attention for you or your mechanic to fix. Or you can do the work yourself, which is pretty much what a the Service Day is all about, learning to do minor, and sometimes major, repairs on your Moke and most importantly become educated and confident with a spanner and screwdriver in your hand.
Knowledgeable Mopke people are on hand to guide your through a repair and show you the tricks and avoid the pitfalls. Service Days aren't intended to be opportunities for you to get people to work on your car for you, they are about helping you do the work yourself.
Regular Service Day activities will still be happening so if you have something specific you want to do on your Moke then please let the host of the Service days know so they can arrange appropriate working space and any special tools that may be required.
This month the Service Day returns to Ron's place at 1 Beaufort St, Mitcham. The day starts around 10am and finishes later in the afternoon.Lunch is BBQ style and BYO tools if you are planning to do some work on your Moke or if you are just coming for the chat, then bring some lubricants for your mouth.
